Edmonton's
Wendy Walker has been performing professionally since
1994, and began her singing career at the age of 8 by
singing in churches, prisons, and Joe's and Flo's Restaurant
on West Broadway on Sunday nights. She has since performed
with Buffy St. Marie, Murray Porter, Laura Vincent,
and has opened for Tom Jackson, Lawrence Martin, and
Keith Secola.
Wendy created an Aboriginal version of Oh Canada that
has been performed before many corporate, political
and community leaders. At the request of the United
Nations, Wendy opened the 2003 Summit in Toronto and
performed her music. She has toured across Canada, the
United States and in Europe while promoting One Light
and hopes to send out the profound message about Global
Peace and caring for our Mother Earth with her music.
