Elaine Bomberry
Elaine is from Six Nations on the Grand River Territory,
Ontario. She is the producer and host of the award-winning
Aboriginal Music Experience, and has produced and hosted
Aboriginal Airwaves on CKRZ-FM, producer of Rez Bluez
showcases at Toronto's Silver Dollar, Associate Producer
on The Pappy Johns Band featuring Murray Porter's "Full
Circle", Assistant Executive Producer for Sweet
Grass Records/EMI Music Canada's "Skin Tight Blues"
CD, and Associate Producer on The Aboriginal Peoples
Television Network's 'Bingo & A Movie'.
Elaine helped create the Best Music of Aboriginal Canada
recording category for the JUNO Awards, and was the
first Chairperson. Elaine was recently appointed to
the board of The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts
and Sciences and is the President of the National Aboriginal
Recording Industry Association. Elaine has been honoured
with awards including the imagineNATIVE Media Arts Festival
2002 and 2003's Best Radio Program, First Place 2003
Native American Journalists Association Media Awards,
Finalist at the New York Radio Festival 2003 for Best
Radio Program-Information all for 'The Aboriginal Music
Experience'. Elaine recently won the JUNO Award's first
Music Industry Builder Award 2004, the Music Industry
Award at the 2003 Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards,
and was 2003 Blues Booster of the Year for Canada's
Maple Blues Awards.
