on to your hats, here comes 2004 ECMA nominee Debbie
Randii Michelin. An artist whose captivating lyrics
and haunting vocals will keep you coming back for more!
Michelin, a Labrador native, has been well acquainted
with music since childhood. With her premiere CD Spirits
Dance; she crosses the boarders from Folk to Traditional
from Roots to Aboriginal.
Debbie comes by her talent honestly, with a family tree
that includes Shirley Montague and the well-renowned
Byron Fiddler Chaulk, considered by many to be two of
the best known songwriters in Labrador. Debbie has dedicated
this CD to her favorite Uncle Fiddler.
She received rave reviews when she performed one of
her original songs, Summer Rain on a recent Aboriginal
Peoples Television Network (APTN) appearance.
Spirits
Dance recorded at DC Productions in Dartmouth, Nova
Scotia, brought together some of the best East Cost
musicians in the business, Dave McIsaac, Lisa McDougall,
James Logan, Pam March, and Don Chapman.
Her songs are currently getting airplay throughout Eastern
Canada, Ontario, all the way to Manitoba.
Debbie enjoys writing songs about the land, the people,
culture, roots and tradition. In true East Cost fashion
her music tells us to live for the moment, to know that
it's ok to laugh, to sing, to dance, to smile and most
importantly to have fun!
